Living Green to Give Our Kids a Healthy Future Post 3326.40
Friday, November 18th, 2011We are now living in a world where toxins are damaging everything in nature, and we’re seeing terrible effects like acid rain and global warming. If only we could manage to exist without damaging mankind’s home, the beautiful green planet, Earth. How wonderful it would be if we could breathe clean air in our towns, uncontaminated by poisons and toxins resulting from our way of living. We’re already paying the price, though, for the contamination we keep creating; the environment and our physical well-being is being threatened by the air’s toxicity.
All forms of life found in that huge body of water, our oceans, which cover 70% of planet earth’s surface, are being ravaged by pollutants such as oil and chemical spillage, which inevitably affects us as well. Lots of fishing jobs that were centered on the healthy bounty of the sea have been eradicated. Since way back in time, fishing has fed and given economic means to a large section of our population, all of which is currently being taken from many. A significant instance of how we are spoiling the ocean is with oil spills, a recent example of this is the Deepwater Horizon spill which left many people out of work and cost billions of dollars to put right. The entire ecosystem was damaged by the large numbers of wildlife that perished, avian as well as marine, causing repercussions along the whole of the food chain. All of this just for oil, a great instance of humans putting themselves before other creatures and the planet.
Vast amounts of money are spent on oil exploration when the money could be invested investing in alternative green energy solutions or research into green energy. The potential for providing considerable amounts of green energy is huge, without damaging the environment. One would think it’s a no-brainer, given the possibilities offered by green energy alternatives, along with their being passive towards the environment. Given that the sun shines, solar panels, for example, can heat water and provide electricity as well. Another green energy source is wind turbines, which change energy contained in wind to electricity. Well, there is more to come with our discussion of free nursing ceus, so we hope you are finding it to be useful. Stop and think a bit about what each point means in your personal situation. Of course you have to be the one to decide since it is your life, and it will impact others around you. Having a wider perspective is to your advantage as well as an open mind. We know that is very helpful to do even though all of us are very busy and maybe do not have the time. If that describes you, then you know that you need to make the very most of your time. What we mean by that is some aspect will have greater meaning for each of us, and then you can go off and discover more for your self on that one thing. So long as the wind blows – and a number of turbines work efficiently at minimal wind speeds – a wind turbine will work, which is a neat advantage. We should understand that the time to put into practice an aggressive green energy program is now, given the environmental damage caused by oil, and the limited supply thereof. Perhaps then we can halt or perhaps even reverse the horrific effects of global warming and pollution.
It is us that are going to experience some benefits in the short term and future generations will benefit in the long term. We don’t wish our children to grow up in a world that has erratic weather and horrendous conditions; we want them to grow up in a beautiful world where they can be proud of the planet and all it has to offer. This isn’t going to be achievable unless we get started living green and helping the environment.
It will be worth all the money, time and substantial effort required, if we can stop the unyielding march of the harm we are doing to our planet.
