Transforming Your Garage Into An Art Studio

If you have a garage that is just used to store a bunch of old junk and you have an artistic interest in drawing or painting – you have an awesome opportunity awaiting you! If you really want to put in the effort to transform your garage into an art studio, it’s time to get rid of all that junk or find a new place to store it.

By utilizing the space in the garage, you will have ample room for all of your supplies and equipment, and you won’t have to constantly move your art supplies from room to room, as you would if you tried to use some space inside the house. When your intention is to transform your garage into an art studio, it’s important to take the time to educate yourself about the process in advance.

One thing that you will want to keep in mind is how you are going to set everything up. You may want to make a list of materials that you are going to need such as easels, drop cloths, and other important things that will help you to be able to express your creativity. Once you have you list made out you will be able to start thinking about where everything is going to go.

Think about how you want to be set up in the room – where you want to face and where you want to stand. For example, if your garage has windows you might want to look out of, or if you want to face the door, those are things to take into consideration.

Transforming your garage into your own art studio is a large project, but if you use some forethought, you will be able to get the work done efficiently. You can be confident that your finished art studio will be conducive to creativity, by making the necessary preparations, including making a list of needed items, and deciding where they will be arranged.

Plan Your New Patio This Winter

Once it becomes cold outside, most people stop using their patios. This is a great time to renovate the patio, since it is not being used as often you will be able to make any changes you like with little inconvenience to the area.

Patio improvements, whether building a new one or adding to an existing one, requires some time and careful thinking about how you should go about it, maybe even looking at magazines or other homes for some ideas. For example, when considering the flooring of your patio, would it look better if you stamp it or keep it a slab of concrete? Does the landscaping around your patio need some updates or changes to improve the flow of the design?

People who want a more modern looking porch will often use slate as the rock of choice. If you use slate in the right manner, it can make a gorgeous patio. You should also know that slate won’t limit your choice of colors or textures, so it is sure to be a good choice for most decorating styles. Having a slate patio will also give your home a more upscale feel since it is most often used in highly expensive decorating. Slate isn’t the most inexpensive choice you can make but it you will enjoy it when you entertain, and have all of your guests complimenting the look of your patio.

To create a truly cool patio, you are going to have to think of some patio lights ideas. No patio at night is complete without some sort of lighting. You can use different kinds of lighting to highlight parts of your patio and create a variety of atmospheres. Additionally, patio lighting will make your patio safer at night as people will not trip on things if they can see where they are walking. Lights on or around the patio as well as your garden can be used in a variety of ways to create a very stylish setup in your back yard. Lighting is not that expensive and will give you a lot of bang for very little.

Working On Your Garden Will Enhance Your Patio

Most patio owners are looking for ways to make their patios look better. One of the ways to do that is to work on the garden around the patio instead of the patio itself. Even if you have a great looking patio, it won’t stand out like it should if the garden around it looks awful.

Likewise, if your patio is plain but the surrounding plants, flowers, and hedges look spectacular, the patio will look better than it should. By making sure that your backyard looks its best and goes well with the patio is the best way to show off your patio. If you don’t have the money to put in a new patio, you can always work on the surrounding area instead.

You may be glad this summer if you take the time right now to plan ways of making your patio area more pleasing. This does not mean that you have to spend a fortune remodeling your patio. By carefully choosing the right flowers and plants as well as the garden landscape around your patio, you can make your whole patio environment much more enticing.
