It doesn’t require much skill to grow a healthy yard but it does require a fair bit of patience for your grass to reach its full maturity. Below are some tricks for growing a healthy yard:
Lots of Water: The main thing to do when you start growing grass is that it will require a lot of water. You will definitely need a long hose and a sprinkler or sprayer. If it doesn’t rain each day you will need to give your lawn at least 10 to 20 minutes of sprinkling. This video will show you the easiest way to spread grass seed with just a shovel, a garden rake and some soil and seed.
Do Not Walk On It: New grass needs to be be left alone and not trampled on while it is starting to grow. Many people post signs around where they are planting grass in an effort to prevent the new grass seed from being trampled by careless walkers and animals. Other than not watering your grass, crushing on newly planted grass is an almost certain way to destroy your grass.
Mow Your Grass Sparingly: Sometimes grass grow too much and in those cases you should learn how to mow high weeds. While mowing your grass does make it look neater, it’s important to remember that you need to let your grass become healthy before you cut it for the first time. Many people know that when you do cut your lawn you should use a high setting on your lawn mower so that your grass can grow thick and green. Grass needs a chance to grow tall and healthy before you cut it down.
It’s easy to have the yard of your dreams if you are willing to dedicate a little time and effort on a regular basis. To grow a beautiful yard you only need to spend two to three hours a week watering and mowing it. The first time you attempt to grow grass you may need to buy some affordable gardening equipment such as a mower.
